An evening reception that includes a traditional Maguro Kaitai ceremony, Sushi, Sake, Shochu, and Wine; along with an exceptional display of entertainment industry artwork to be auctioned.

The celebration will center on an oversized sushi bar serving, made-to-order, sushi prepared by a number of leading chefs from Boston, New York, and D.C., coupled with hors d’oeuvres and dishes presented by the culinary team at the Ronald Reagan Building and tastes from around D.C. A traditional Maguro Kaitai ceremony performed by Chef Toru Oga of Oga’s Japanese Cuisine will be one of the many highlights of the evening.

There will also be an amazing collection of artwork displayed and auctioned. The collection features entertainment industry creative’s from Disney, DreamWorks, Nickelodeon and many others.

Various organizations have united to represent and reflect the ties amongst the business and entertainment community in support of this year’s charitable cause, TOMODACHI.

Hanami After Dark – will benefit TOMODACHI, an initiative led by the U.S.-Japan Council in our ongoing effort to support Japan’s recovery from the Great East Japan Earthquake. Learn more about how TOMODACHI invests in the next generation of Japanese and Americans in ways that strengthen culture and economic ties, and deepen the friendship between the United States and Japan over the long-term.

Hosted by Trade Center Management Associates (TCMA) at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center. This evening reception and auction will be held Sunday, April 1st in the Pavilion Room from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
